Media Release22 March, 2007 Poolrite saves water and jobs Poolrite Research has developed a new innovative product called the MagnaPool system that will ease the pressure on the current water crisis and help save thousands of jobs. Under the new restrictions pool owners are not permitted to top up or fill up their pool with town water unless they have sufficient water saving measures in the house. Pool builders will be one of the hardest hit with 819 licensed pool builders in Queensland, and thousands of employees set to lose their jobs. Poolrite Research can save these jobs and also provide a means to help save the environment with their newly developed MagnaPool system. The MagnaPool system is a complete, natural, safe filtration and water storage system designed to enable the use of pool water for everyday usage, such as watering the garden and cleaning. Regular pool water is toxic to plants because of the high concentration of sodium chloride, which pool owner’s backwash into the ecosystem regularly. Alternatively the MagnaPool system uses MagnaBlu Minerals, a naturally occurring product that is high in potassium and magnesium chloride. MagnaBlu minerals provide essential nutrients for plants and are safe for cleaning purposes and human consumption. Executive Manager of Poolrite Research Colin Redmond said the MagnaPool system aims to save water and thousands of Queensland jobs through designing innovative and environmental sound pool systems. “The MagnaPool system allows consumers to simply and safely use their pool as a water tank,” Mr Redmond said. The development and release of the MagnaPool system means secure jobs, a solution to the water crisis. Swimming pools do not waste much water as commonly thought. Swimming pools only need to be filled up once and use less than 0.1 per cent of domestic water supply. More than 40 per cent of domestic water usage is used on the garden, followed by 25 per cent in the bathroom. Poolrite Research has thoroughly been testing the MagnaPool system on gardens since January 2006 and has maintained a healthy garden proving the viability of the system as an alternative water source. The MagnaPool system will be released on 18 April. Poolrite Equipment is the parent company of Poolrite Research. Poolrite Research was founded to research and develop new methods and technologies to ease the current environmental pressures facing the world today. The organisation endeavours to develop revolutionary new water banking and treatment technologies in water conservation systems and pool water systems. -ENDS-
